Following a leak, the trailer for “Grand Theft Auto VI,” the highly anticipated and graphic game, was made available online ahead of schedule. The sixth chapter will be released in 2025, as the trailer indicates, according to developer Rockstar Games.
In its first few hours on YouTube, the eagerly awaited trailer received over 32 million views.
Initially, the trailer was scheduled to launch on Tuesday, December 5 at 9:00 a.m. PST. However, Rockstar Games stated, “Our trailer has leaked so please watch the real thing on YouTube,” in a post on X, the platform that was formerly known as Twitter.
It has taken a while for GTA 6, the next installment in the action-adventure series, to arrive. 2013 saw the release of GTA 5.
In a scene reminiscent of Bonnie and Clyde, the female lead, Lucia, appears to go on a crime spree with her companion through packed beaches, city highways, and nightclubs.
Take-Two Interactive’s Rockstar Games has had issues with leaks. Hackers released previously unreleased video from the upcoming GTA game in 2022. The company confirmed that the screenshots and game-play videos that had leaked online as a result of a “network intrusion” were real, shocking the video gaming community.
GTA 6 leak? ‘Grand Theft Auto (GTA VI)’
At the time, Rockstar Games released a statement on what was then Twitter, saying, “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorized third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto.”
The studio was hacked last year, and as a result, over 90 photos and videos leaked onto social media, making it one of the largest leaks in video game history.
Although has previously stated that it is working on the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game, this is the first time we’ve heard any kind of information about what to anticipate. The trailer seems to confirm that the rumours about GTA VI having a male and female protagonist were true as well. The female character seems to be an ex-con, and there are a lot of videos in the game that resemble TikTok and Instagram Reel content, so it appears that there is some sort of in-game social media. In addition to Vice City, Rockstar’s interpretation of Miami, we also see the Leonida wetlands and a joke about Florida Man.
Given that Rockstar has a history of revealing games more than a year before they are released, it is still unknown whether GTA VI will launch in 2025 or the following year.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar, estimates that GTA V has sold about 190 million copies, making it the best-selling game in the US over the previous ten years in terms of both unit and dollar sales.
The release date of Grand Theft Auto 6 is confirmed by Rockstar to be 2025. Grand Theft Auto 6 will release on TBC in 2025, according to the reveal trailer, though no specific release date has been announced.
